Chris Kennett

Director, Undergraduate Business and Technology Programs at La Salle-Universitat Ramon Llull and tenured professor

Degree in Sports Management and Doctorate (Loughborough University). Since 2008, he has been a Lecturer in the Business Engineering School (LaSalle-URL). He was the Research Manager (2002-2008) at the Olympic Studies Centre (CEO-UAB) and a member of the consolidated research group of the International Communication and Cultural Studies Group.

His sporting interests focus on Olympic Games communication, particularly Olympic host city brand creation and the role of sport in social inclusion. Among his most significant publications are the book Multicultural Sport (with Kim Manresa, 2008), the co-edition of The Legacy of the Olympic Games 1984-2000 (IOC, 2003) and the chapter “Barcelona 1992: evaluating the Olympic legacy” (with Miquel de Moragas) in National Identity and Global Sports Events: Culture, Politics, and Spectacle in the Olympics and the Football World Cup (State University of New York Press, 2006).
