Deanna Binder

International Chair in Olympism. Invited professor 2006

Dr. Binder is an expert on education in the Olympic and sport values and has a broad academic and professional experience in this area. Graduated in Sociology by the University of Calgary (1968), she focused her doctoral thesis in the University of Alberta (2002) on the implementation of Olympic education programmes in schools.

Dr. Binder was appointed as visiting professor of the International Chair in Olympism in 2006. During her stay in Barcelona, Dr. Binder gave the opening lecture of the CEO-UAB academic course, a research seminar at the Faculty of Education at the UAB, and a conference at the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalunya (INEFC) on the educational values of sport and the implementation of programmes on this area in Catalan schools.
