Richard Cashman
International Chair in Olympism. Invited professor 2002
Associate professor in history and former director of the Australian Centre for Olympic Studies. His research focuses on the legacy of the Olympic Games and their impacts on the host community, as well as the history of the Olympic Games.
Dr. Cashman was appointed as visiting professor of the International Chair in Olympism in 2002. During his stay at the CEO-UAB, Prof. Cashman focused his work on the analysis of community impact and involvement in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The programme of activities included: a post-graduated seminar on host community and the Olympic Games; various university lectures on the impacts of the Sydney 2000 Games; and a paper given at the international symposium on the legacy of the Games held in Lausanne in 2002.
